We were not sure of our neighborhood when we encountered the two cafes just across the street.

and

Sally didn't know what to think when I suggested we step inside.

But all turned out well when we headed out to the Louvre.

They say Paris is for lovers.

The biggest crowds were around the Mona Lisa aka La Gioconda. Everyone crowded around trying hopelessly to get a perfect picture which was impossible due to the extra glass separating the painting from the public. Photos of art are permitted in the Louvre  but photos of people prohibited...I took an illegal photo.

And no one cares about a valuable work of art by the same artist of a man without a smile.

With more than 30,000 items of art on display touring the Louvre gets overwhelming.
We strolled through the Tuileries garden pausing for a leisurely lunch in the shade of some trees. Followed by a visit to the smaller L'Orangerie museum and viewed  Monet's water lilies.

A walk up the Champs Elysees to The Arc de Triomphe a trip to the top and we were exhausted.
