We have arrived in Paris, exhausted but we managed to spend the hot, sunny day touring. First we strolled by the Canal de la Villette to see the boat,s and bike paths that we will take out of the city after we have seen what we wish to in glorious Paris.

"There is one born every minute"... especially in Montmartre where we saw many gambling street games with sleight-of-hand operators with fistfulls of euros on a small street on our way up to the magnificent Basilique de Sacre Coeur.  The carousel was a nice way for children all ages to cool off in the shade and fun to take the funicular down, having walked up the many steps!

Refreshment and people-watching were required at a pleasant little cafe before more learning experience with the Metro - and on we went to Notre Dame.
